WWE and the Dallas Cowboys celebrate Superstars for Hope in Dallas, TX: March 31, 2016

By: James Wortman

Three nights before WrestleMania 32, WWE, the Dallas Cowboys organization and Boys & Girls Clubs of America convened at Dallas’ chic D.E.C. on Dragon St. to celebrate this year’s Superstars for Hope online auction, which offers one-of-a-kind experiences with John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, 2016 WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg and WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon.

“WWE’s mission is to put smiles on people’s faces the world over, whether we do that with our entertainment programming or whether we do it by giving back to the community,” Stephanie said at Thursday night’s Superstars for Hope reception, moments before revealing that the online auction had already raised nearly $200,000. “That money is going to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America and, absolutely, a portion of that is going to be allocated right here in North Texas.”

Aligned with Stephanie in support of Superstars for Hope is Dallas Cowboys EVP and Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones Anderson, who also spoke at the event.

“We share a lot of things in common — not just our funny fathers — but our families, our commitment and our passion for what we do and to the world of sports and entertainment ” Anderson said with a smile, alluding to similarities between her own father, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and WWE CEO and Chairman, Vince McMahon.

Earlier that day, Stephanie joined WWE Superstars The Miz, Sin Cara and Natalya, commentator Corey Graves and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr at the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club for a Be a STAR rally, continuing WWE’s ongoing mission to empower young people and put an end to bullying.

“I’m so thankful that WWE believes in Boys & Girls Clubs to be their partner to eradicate bullying in America,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of America Vice President Frank Sanchez. “Because that’s what we’re trying to do. Together, we want to work in communities all across America to teach the young people the skills, so that they can prevent themselves from being bullied, they can help those that are also being bullied and we can eradicate this unnecessary evil in our society.”

Showing their support to the Superstars for Hope were WWE’s Big Show, The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Sasha Banks, Brie Bella, Lilian Garcia, Alicia Fox, Darren Young, JoJo and Dolph Ziggler.

“It’s special for us to give back to the community during WrestleMania Week, being live and in-person and making some great, charitable moves,” Ziggler told WWE.com. “That’s what we like to do.”

Lilian echoed The Showoff’s sentiments, remarking on how The Show of Shows continues to help WWE shine a spotlight on people and organizations that could benefit from the power of the WWE Universe.

“It’s amazing to keep doing philanthropy projects like Superstars for Hope — really making a difference in the world,” the stunning songstress and ring announcer said. “We try to do everything we can in every kind of venue.”

On-hand (and on the ones and twos) for the party was New York-based radio personality and the co-host of ESPN’s “Cheap Heat” podcast, Peter Rosenberg, who enjoyed the opportunity to not only be a part of the WWE family during WrestleMania Week, but to participate in an important cause.

“Superstars for Hope and other initiatives like this are the reason that I’m proud to be a WWE fan, not only because I think it’s the greatest art that exists in the world, but that there’s also this other layer—the amazing good that’s being done at all times,”

Rosenberg told WWE.com. “The combination of being part of that great work and also getting to see my favorite Superstars and Divas decked out during WrestleMania Week, it’s every wrestling fan’s dream come true.”

This year’s Superstars for Hope online auction ends Tuesday, April 5. To participate, visit Charitybuzz.com/WWE. (source)
